“Copyright laws on “fandom” content - things pertaining to popular TV shows, movies, games and books - should be much stricter,” Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer claims. “A lot of the animated GIFs, screen-caps and videos hosted on the website are in direct violation of copyright laws which could lead to the site’s eventual take-down unless proper action is immediately taken.”

Hello, white Native American here. While I am predominantly European in my ancestry, I do have both Cherokee and Newport ancestry. Though if you really, really want to get into semantics, nobody is native. I mean, if even my European lineage which arrived in America back in 1621 doesn’t allow me to call myself native, nor my “Native American” ancestry either, then what does? At what point does a group of people get to count as Native to a land? 500 years? 1000 years? 1500 years?

Let’s also take into account what he’s talking about, in this case the context makes clear that ‘native’ implies someone who was born and raised here. If you want to make it more specific, you could even say that it’s someone whose family has been in the U.S. for two or more generations and has assimilated into the American culture.

But what does my opinion matter, I’m just a white guy.

while i am anti-abortion (save for when it’s used to save a physical life) i am not anti-contraception. seriously though, i wish there was some sort of conservative version of planned parenthood. one that would provide services and education on how to avoid pregnancy before you’re ready, maybe encourage abstinence before marriage, but not shame people who don’t follow that, and also help people who are trying to get/are pregnant get the proper services they need to stay healthy during the pregnancy and be ready when the child is born. oh, and of course help people who’ve contracted STIs & STDs treat those issues. pretty much- do what p.p. does, minus the abortion services aspect. also, have it be started by someone who isn’t a eugenicist.

sometimes i see posts that promote feminism and they’ll talk about some aspect of our culture that needs to be fixed. and it’ll mention something i don’t quite agree with the reasoning on but i do agree with the end result. for a brief moment that natural desire to get upset over small stuff will flare and i’ll feel offended, but then i stop and reread it and think and shake my head at myself cuz there’s nothing for me to actually be offended about.

i mean, just cuz people with a different view point than me see something differently doesn’t mean they’re wrong. it’s just something i didn’t notice or notice as a problem because of my own personal situation in life. and even in areas where i still disagree with the message, i don’t need to be offended over it, i can disagree with it without being a jerk about it.

Rapper Chris Kelly, of Kris Kross, dies

NBC Bay Area: Chris Kelly, of 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, has died at age 34.

Authorities said Kelly was pronounced dead in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia at approximately 5 p.m. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

The duo included Kelly, known as “Mac Daddy,” and Chris Smith, known as “Daddy Mac.” The group was best known for the song “Jump” off their multiplatinum 1992 debut album “Totally Krossed Out.” Kris Kross went on to tour with Michael Jackson and have their own video game.
